2009 Louis Jadot Macon-Village

The Maconnais is the south region of burgundy above the Beaujolais region. The warmer climate in this region benefits the growth of chardonnay which is also the majority of the production in this region. The quality of the wines in this region can roughly be distinguished in the following six levels from basic to the best:

    1 .   Macon
    2 .   Macon Superieur
    3 .   Macon-Village
    4 .   St-Veran
    5 .   Pouilly-Vinzelles
    6 .   Pouilly-Fuisse

As you can see this wine is in the third level. From the nose  it has the citricy and light buttery with a hint of smoke. On the palate, it has nive acidity to go with the juiciness. It is very flavorful with a long mineral finish.
From my local grocery store it is about $15 dollars. Granted it is not a premier cru burgundy level, but at this price, it is still a very enjoyable white burgundy.

DWA rating: 8/10…………Highly Recommended for its taste and affordability. Must Try.
